The Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) has mapped out thematic routes across different domains, organised in consortia. Through these consortia, artistic methods are increasingly brought into focus. Since 2024, Suzan Tunca has been a member of the Route Arts committee on behalf of ICK.

The theme developed by Route Arts, “Reimagining Work: Artistic Research into Labour in the Digital Age,” has been approved for the NWO Open Research Call (NWO-ORC) 2026 round. This theme explores how labour can be reimagined as a human, relational activity within a digitised economy, with artistic methods making tangible the tensions between autonomy and control, human scale and data-driven management. In collaboration with workers, trade unions, and policymakers, this research aims to generate actionable perspectives for fair and just labour. More information can be found on the NWO website.
