Continuation of the ROCCO/ROCCA tour

Company

In ROCCO/ROCCA, the audience is seated around a boxing ring, where dancers become boxers—and boxers become dancers. They challenge one another with sharp punches, swift footwork, and virtuosic tactics. In close combat, relationships are pushed to the edge as men and women seek out each other’s extremes.

The performance is based on the film by Italian director Luchino Visconti: Rocco e i suoi fratelli, a story of brotherly love and the struggle for a better life. The dancers embody sibling bonds in all their facets: the good and the bad, the devil and the angel, the androgynous and the incestuous. ROCCO/ROCCA is a dance performance about the physically and emotionally roiling bodies of boxer and dancer.
