EDN Atelier: “Revisiting Creative Dance Processes with New Technologies”
What happens when dancers and technologists experiment together? How can AI-generated movement abstractions be translated into the physical experience of the body? What does it mean to transform physical movement into sound or visual imagery? And what challenges do these cross-pollinations pose to the creative, institutional, and political frameworks that shape contemporary dance production?
This is the first in-person gathering of EDN’s Digital Working Group, organised in collaboration with ICK Dans Amsterdam and Space for Dance Art. Over the course of two days, interdisciplinary dance makers and creative programmers will work hands-on with tools developed through two Horizon Europe research and innovation projects: HAMLET and PREMIERE. Atelier-based research and conversations will alternate, with the aim of developing a shared vocabulary and embodied knowledge across diverse professional backgrounds.
