On May 19 & 20, you can experience the latest developments of Intuition Machine yourself during The Artists Are Present at Frascati.
This continuously evolving AI installation — a body made of LED light — is becoming increasingly capable of recognising the choreographic elements within ICK’s dance idiom.
The installation consists of a holographic body illuminated by dozens of LED lights. It moves continuously and shifts shape in response to the impulses of a dancer. At the centre of the installation, a dress appears to breathe, while a reflective sphere moves in synchrony beside it.
The digital body operates through choreographic data captured from a dancer’s movements. This data is transmitted to the installation via a server, where an algorithm transforms it into sound. Every movement of both the system and the dancer directly influences the music, causing it to be continuously adjusted and recomposed in real time.
The hologram passes through seven distinct stages in which artificial intelligence and fragments of dance converge. The dancer’s movements are captured and processed live, creating a dynamic interaction between physical and digital processes, with the installation functioning as a bridge between both worlds.
