In CATALOGO, we follow M., a dancer who has decided to leave the stage. We meet her on her final day in the rehearsal studio. As the moment of farewell draws closer, her body becomes a living catalogue of movements, encounters and different choreographic languages.

CATALOGO originated from an idea by Marta Ciappina, Marco D’Agostin and Damien Modolo. For the project, four distinctive voices from the Italian and international dance and performance scene were invited: Silvia Gribaudi, Francesca Pennini / CollettivO CineticO, Sotterraneo and Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten.

Their assignment comes with an unusual rule: the artists create their contribution for Marta without meeting her beforehand or working with her in the studio. A kind of choreographic blind date. Four different artistic worlds turn their gaze towards the same body, without knowing exactly what will emerge from this encounter.

Marco D’Agostin then brings the different contributions together through the dramaturgy of the performance. Rather than becoming a collection of separate choreographies, they form one continuous movement: a polyphonic performance about saying goodbye, finitude and the persistent desire to keep dancing.
