With the club opera DONS, director and composer Robin Coops challenges traditional views on gender roles. In a society where stories are determined by political and commercial interests, DONS invites the audience to let go of entrenched gender norms and embrace a flexible, authentic way of being.

DONS takes place in a club setting where the boundaries between artist and spectator blur. Nicholas Thayer’s music intertwines elements from Mozart’s Don Giovanni with dark electronic beats and deep synthesizers, creating an immersive sound world that is both classical and innovative.
