Past, Present & Future at the 8th ICK Fest

On 28 March, ICK Dans Amsterdam brings its annual ICK Fest to De Meervaart for the eighth time.

As always, this edition offers plenty of dance to admire, while also inviting you to wonder and reflect. What is the power of pure dance in times of uncertainty and increasing international tensions?

With a stimulating, full evening programme, we skim across past and present: across contrasts between cultures, across the boundaries between disciplines, across what we call classical—and which elements remain meaningful for the future. You will be able to see a sparkling new version of BOLERO, now with a full cast in dialogue—and confrontation—with Maurice Ravel, and we land between the Maghreb and Europe with the border-crossing F.A.S.L. فاصل.

You will also encounter new makers. This time we give space to Collectief MAMM for the space they cannot find: a home. Like true Houdinis, they squeeze themselves into spaces that are far too small and ask: what makes a home?

ICK Fest lives throughout every space of the Meervaart: in the corridors and foyer you will encounter vibrant exhibition visuals and pop-up performances by the junior company NEXT.
