With the Movement Research Labs, ICK offers choreographers and dancers the opportunity for in-depth research into the development of their dance and movement language, as well as peer-to-peer exchange. The Movement Research Labs create a unique context for dance research. They provide guidance and feedback grounded in long-standing and internationally recognised expertise in dance (an)notation, documentation, knowledge transmission and publication.
One of the key principles of the Labs is the development of “skilful entanglement” between physical and verbal language. Space is left for what remains inexpressible, while at the same time participants refine and sharpen their ability to articulate, describe and transmit insights, experiences and danced expression. This process is intended to nourish the ongoing development of specific, conscious and distinctive articulations of the dancing body.
