A dancing body sculpts and is sculpted by sound – or takes the radical choice of silence.
Prologo d’Entrata / Intuition Machine by Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten is a dance in seven movements that explores how the intuitive intelligence of the dancing body acts when digital algorithms recognize, reframe and translate movement into an audible dance partner.
What is the significance of corporeal intelligence when human ways of knowing become increasingly imitated by machines? What can an algorithm recognize in a movement and what kind of knowledge emerges exclusively in the living body? Where lies the difference between calculating and incarnating movement?
Prologo d’Entrata / Intuition Machine emerges from this tension and opens the Society 5.0 Festival “Reimagining Autonomy” – an initiative by Center of Expertise Creative Innovation – in an event that explores the radical autonomy and creative intelligence of the dancing human body.
The session contextualizes how Prologo d’Entrata evolved from the opening scene of the dance opera WE, the LUST towards the research-creation trajectory of Intuition Machine, a performance-installation where a digital light body is being trained to become a choreographic partner.Participants will then experience excerpts of Prologo d’Entrata, and the performance willl be followed by a discussion with the creative team.
