RUIM

These four wildly musical, acrobatic dancers are sure to be a crowd favorite.
— Theaterkrant

The housing shortage is driving many people to madness. We squeeze ourselves into 7 m², sublet temporarily, compete in house-share interviews, and wait while endlessly collecting WoningNet points.

Four dancers navigate a world that’s teetering: they slide, fall, struggle, climb, and squeeze between crooked walls. With raw acrobatics and boundless imagination, they challenge themselves to create space within tight confines. Without anything to hold on to, at each other’s expense or with each other’s support.

RUIM is an acrobatic and intimate dance performance about creativity in a system that has come to a stand still. A celebration of resilience and the endless search for what “home” truly means. Because when the dust settles, one question remains:

‘What makes a house a home — and what are you willing to sacrifice for it?’
